US stocks end higher despite FOMC minutes
FXStreet (Córdoba) - US equities finished mostly in positive territory after being able to erase losses. Following the release of the FOMC minutes stocks turned lower but then bounced in the last hour of trading to end at highs.
The Dow Jones rose 0.35% to finished at 16,979 while the S&P 500 climbed 0.27% to end slightly below record highs at 1,987. The Nasdaq ended far from the lows but lost 0.03%.
The US dollar rallied after the minutes, reaching fresh multi-month highs across the board. Gold ended around $1,290 posting the lowest close in weeks. Crude oil jumped during the US session and rose more than 2% to finish at $96.40 a barrel.
