Nikkei: Japan to cut new government bond issuance for 8th straight year - RTRS
Reuters reports the latest headlines published in the Nikkei newspaper on Thursday, citing that the Japanese government is expected to cut new bond issuance for FY 2018-19 from the previous year, in response to the economic recovery pushing up tax revenues.
The Nikkei cited that the total new bond issuance will likely fall by as much as several hundreds of billion yen in the next fiscal year from the current year’s 34.37 trillion yen ($304.83 billion), heading for the eighth straight year of declines in new bond issuance.
The Ministry of Finance is expected to compile the draft of next fiscal year’s budget for approval by the cabinet on Dec. 22.
