Market snapshot - ANZ

Analysts at ANZ explained that there was not much to trade on Friday with a lack of major releases and Fed speakers largely toeing the party line.

"European equities were little changed while US equities opened about 0.5% lower and edged higher through the trading session to close largely unchanged. 

US treasuries and European yields were generally +/- 2bps. Canadian paper (-3 to -4bps) outperformed following weaker retail sales and inflation data. 

The DXY appreciated 0.4% led by gains against NOK (1%) and CAD (0.8%). Oil fluctuated but was edged higher into the close, up 0.9%. Gold was little changed."
