Swiss 10-year bond yield falls to -0.034%
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The yield on Switzerland's 10-year government bond fell to -0.034 percent on Tuesday, the first time since April.
Switzerland auctioned 10-year government bonds with a negative yield last month – which means investors paid for the privilege of lending to the government for such a long period. Meanwhile, the Swiss 1-year and 2-year yields are nearing -1.00%.
The negative yield could only add to the bearish pressure on the Swiss Franc. The USD/CHF pair now trades above 0.95 levels, after having breached the 50-DMA located at 0.9475 earlier today.
